Completion

The Bologna high-speed underpass and the new high-speed station were built to decongest the Bologna intersection, which handles intense traffic of local, national, international and freight trains every day. The new infrastructure project, for which we provided station monitoring instrumentation, consists of a large underground space 640 m long and 40 m wide. The level of the tracks is more than 20 m below ground.

Start of work

The new Firenze Belfiore station, for which we are providing station monitoring instrumentation, will be dedicated exclusively to high-speed trains, creating new underground infrastructure that will allow their operation without interfering with regional trains. This will improve punctuality and increase the number of trains in circulation above ground, facilitating the increase of local lines. The new station will act as a main junction and point of connection with other public transport, such as trams, buses, taxis, cycleways and pedestrian paths.
